Methven Medical Centre provides primary health care for a population of approx 4000 in a rural part of Mid Canterbury 30 mins from Ashburton and 90 mins from Christchurch Public Hospital. There also is a General Hospital with Maternity services,  We belong to Pegasus Health Charitable PHO.

The practice was formed in 1985 with the construction of the original building. This was extended and renovated in 2011.  We collaborate as a multidisciplinary team focused on continuing education. Our health services are provided by GP's Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses. 

 

The medical centre is equipped to deal with all primary care.  We have a small X-ray unit for peripheral radiology and also have plastering facilities.  Nurses take blood specimens, with courier pick up 3 times a day.
